You'll work directly with state-of-the-art chemical engineering and laboratory equipment, providing you with the advanced skills that are sought after by industry. Additional information Chemical industries include pharmaceuticals, energy, plastics, paints, fuels, metals and food – an extremely broad range. You'll also gain a flexible set of skills that apply across a range of chemical engineering career paths. Sheridan offers a tightly integrated suite of chemical engineering college programs and chemistry programs; you can easily transfer your Chemical Engineering credits to the Chemical Laboratory Technician, Environmental Technician, and Chemical Engineering Technology – Environmental programs. Some graduates go on to study chemistry or chemical engineering at university. Depending on the university, and the choice of program, they may receive transfer credits for their study at Sheridan. On the laboratory side, careers are found in research and development, quality control, production support, and technical service and sales. On the industrial side, careers range from plant operations (using the latest in computer control systems) to technical sales and service for industrial equipment and chemicals. Chemical Engineering Technology graduates may work their way up to supervisory and management positions in both the laboratory and industry. Graduates have completed all the academic requirements for professional certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). Additional requirements for certification exist and are established by OACETT. Graduates are also eligible for membership in the Chemical Institute of Canada.
